Such valuable words and insight. I’m planning to start my own ‘reading the greats’ project in 2025 exposing the innards of my reading journal to chart the process. I’m already very nervous about what my meanderings might reveal, but I also think that the adventure of reading, and all the non-knowing and un-knowing that takes place, is worth sharing! At 74 years old with a very diverse professional career and a complicated personal life (LOL), I’ve always learned a lot more from my mistakes than my victories! Few ask themselves what factors/decisions resulted in the particular victory….but analyzing mistakes can lead to more success.
